If we are what we eat, then what is the queer body made of? A Queer History of American Food is an exploration of LGBTQ+ history through iconic American dishes, from iced coffee to whole wheat tortillas. Each episode follows one dish’s journey and its role in influencing queer identity and creating community.
About the Artist
P.C. Verrone is a playwright, author, performing artist, and storyteller born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from Harvard College in 2018. His plays have been workshopped by The Custom Made Theater, Blank Theater, and Native Voices. He was named a semi-finalist for the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference in 2017 and Shakespeare's New Contemporaries in 2019.
As a queer, mixed-race storyteller, he uses writing to explore and uplifting underrepresented facets of American culture. He is currently working on a play commission from the Urbanite Theater in Sarasota, FL, as well as his debut novel. He is continuing to pursue research on the Queer History of American Food.
