Cognitive Challenge: Transfer of learning
In this video, I discuss the cognitive challenge of transfer of learning, which involves applying one’s knowledge and skills to new contexts. Unsuccessful transfer is a common problem. Students have difficulty applying their knowledge when they have poor understanding of the concepts and when the new context is very different from the context of their initial learning.
