Super Mario: An unusual Plumbing day | Animation

Описание: Today is an exciting day for Mario, working as a plumber in the sunny colored streets of Brooklyn.

As his day starts he'll slowly get overwhelmed by the number of call he'll receive and all kind of problems from the residents of Brooklyn. Will he be able to answer all the calls?

For this short movie i wanted to adopt a stylized graphic style, for the textures and 3D models. Handpainted textures was my way to go with visible hand brush on the surfaces and bright-like pastel colors, even for the characters. 3D models were created after Mario's proportions, ensuring consistent size and shapes for this semi-cartoonish world.
The animations were made in stepped keys to give this cartoon, low framerate movements.

The choice of the music was important: some jazzy tunes (Paper mario color splash) for the first part because we are in Brooklyn! And some tracks from the 1993 mario movie.
I was inspired by the Super Mario Bros 1993 live action movie, especially at the beginning of the movie where Mario and Luigi drive throughout Brooklyn!
