This is a fish that is likely Sciaenochromis fryeri. But consistent with our practice of not assigning scientific names to fish we aren’t absolutely certain of being a species; we maintain this fish as an aquarium strain and keep it separate from our Sciaenochromis fryeri breeding colony. We acquired this fish under the name “Electric Blue Ahli”. We continue to use that name and treat it as an aquarium strain and not a pure species.
