訪れたのは、京のはじまりのお寺「東寺」。
京都は長い歴史のなかで、さまざまなものが失われたり、
別の場所へ移されたりしてきました。
そのような中で、「東寺」だけは変わらずこの地に留まり続けています。
――平安京、唯一の遺構です。
そして、東寺と深い結びつきを持つ僧侶・空海。
今回は、ゆったりと歩きながら、密教や仏さまの魅力も
一緒に感じていただけたらと思っています。

Hello everyone,
this is Komorebi. 🌿
This time, I took a gentle walk through my hometown — Kyoto.
The place I visited is Tō-ji Temple, known as the very first temple built in Kyoto, dating back to the founding of the ancient capital Heian-kyō (the original city of Kyoto, established in 794).
Over the long course of history, many temples and structures in Kyoto have been lost or moved to other places.
Yet, Tō-ji has remained in the same spot for more than 1,200 years —
the only surviving structure from the Heian capital.
The temple is also deeply connected to Kūkai (Kōbō Daishi),
a Buddhist monk who introduced Esoteric Buddhism (Mikkyō) to Japan —
a spiritual tradition that seeks enlightenment through rituals, symbols, and deep meditation.
As I walk slowly through this sacred place,
I hope to share with you the quiet beauty of Mikkyō and the world of the Buddhas.
