Madurai HC Orders Temple Authorities to Light Sacred Lamp | Thiruparankundram Lamp | India Today

Описание: In Madurai, advocate and Hindu Munnani petitioner Niranjan S Kumar spoke about the High Court’s decision on the Thiruparankundram temple issue.

He said the division bench clearly ordered that the sacred lamp must be lit on top of the Thiruparankundram hill. The court also said that the HRNC department and temple authorities are responsible for lighting the lamp.

According to the order, only the temple administration should light the lamp, and the public should not be allowed to take part. He added that the court strongly criticised the government and called some actions after the order “mischievous.”

He said that if the government claims there could be a law and order problem, it shows either a failure of the state to maintain order or a deliberate attempt to support one religion. He added that more clarity will come once the full judgment copy is received.
