I have used this three times in my career when all other methods of getting a boat off have failed. A tape or rope is attached to a thwart and then fed under the boat. Then it attached to a throw bag to give an upstream pull. I have had to put a pulley system on this rope to get the boat moving and then it is pull at speed. Once rolling, the folk to the side pull the canoe free of the obstruction.
I had to join two different attempts so a bit of a incongruity just in the middle of the roll. This was filmed during a training course I was running in Sweden.
