Recorded January 12, 1982 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood during The Time's "What Time Is It?" sessions, this track features only Prince and Morris Day. For 37 YEARS this stayed in the vault until it was released on the 1999 Super Deluxe Edition in 2019. The original master tape was so damaged they had to source it from a cassette - but we finally got to hear where it all started.
Fast forward to December 1989, Prince pulled this from the vault and transformed it into "New Power Generation" for Graffiti Bridge - the anthem that would define an entire era and name his legendary band.
