Today we are building a simple 2 transistor overdrive using a breadboard. This is not your "conventional" op amp overdrive, but uses BJTs and diodes for some fun unique tones ranging from crunchy overdrive to borderline fuzz.

It is also a great platform for mods and tweaks, so once you build your own, have fun messing around with it!

100pF x 1 (ceramic might be easier to find instead of film)

Regular pot
50k A(audio/log taper)
*knob for above pot

Clipping diodes (pretty much anything will work)

The signal chain: Guitar - Breadboard - 80's MIJ "Blackface Fender inspired" tube amp - analog cab sim - computer

The guitars: 1983 Fender Japan Squier Stratocaster(stock PUs), 2011 Epiphone Dot(Seymour Duncan Seth Lover bridge, 59 neck PUs).
