Forget boring breakfasts! This Chana Dal Cheela is your ticket to a crispy, delicious, and protein-packed start to the day. Made from soaked chana dal (split chickpeas), it’s naturally gluten-free, incredibly flavorful, and so much healthier than restaurant-style cheelas.

In this video, I’ll show you my foolproof method for getting the perfect crispy texture and share pro tips to avoid common mistakes. It’s easier than you think!


🍽️ PRINTABLE RECIPE (Full Ingredients & Measurements):

📋 INGREDIENTS LIST:
(for 4-5 cheelas)
• 1 cup Chana Dal (split chickpeas)
• 1-inch Ginger
• 1-2 Green Chilies
• ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
• Salt to taste
• Water for soaking & grinding
• 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
• 1 small Capsicum, finely chopped
• 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves, chopped
• Oil/Ghee for cooking

👩🍳 METHOD

1. Rinse and soak chana dal for 4-6 hours.
2. Drain and blend with ginger, green chili, cumin, and salt into a thick, smooth batter.
3. Let the batter rest for 15-20 minutes.
4. Mix in chopped onions, capsicum, and coriander.
5. Heat a non-stick tawa, pour a ladleful of batter, and spread gently.
6. Drizzle oil/ghee, cook until golden and crisp on both sides.
7. Serve hot with green chutney, yogurt, or pickle!

💡 PRO TIPS:
• Soaking is key! Don’t skip it for a smooth texture.
• The batter should be thick, NOT runny like dosa batter.
• Use a medium-hot tawa for even cooking without burning.
• Make it vegan by using oil instead of ghee.
