Hey everyone, and welcome back to the channel!
In this video, we run through a full winter operations scenario departing from Birmingham (EGBB) on the Airbus A350.
We start on the ground with cold weather operations, including the de/anti-icing process, holdover time considerations, and the challenges of taxi and departure in snowy conditions. Shortly after departure, we’re faced with an abnormal technical issue: a Flap System 1 and 2 Fault, resulting in the flaps being locked in position one.
From there, we work through a structured failure management process, consult with the company, and make the decision to return to Birmingham. Due to our weight and the winter runway conditions, an immediate return isn’t possible, so we then demonstrate the fuel jettison procedure before planning the approach.
The video finishes with a cold weather return into Birmingham, flying an ILS approach in snowing conditions and taxiing back to stand, highlighting the operational considerations involved throughout.

As always, thank you so much for your support, and if you have any questions, please write them in the comment section, and we'll get back to you!
Happy landings :)
