Skipping Half Dome to go backpacking to Cloud's Rest in Yosemite

Описание: We went backpacking to Cloud's Rest in Yosemite, California in April of 2022. It was mid-spring when we hiked and ice was melting, giving us many running springs along the hike. Along the Mist Trail, the sound of the rushing water from the Merced River was therapeutic. We saw wildlife on the trail. Further up, the booming sound of Vernal Falls, it's size and power were overwhelming. The wind and mist from the cascading water got us completely wet. After Vernal Falls, we reached Liberty Cap and walked through a little patch of forest before reaching another cascading rush of water - Nevada Falls. The view from above Nevada Falls showed us Yosemite Valley. Then we hit John Muir Trail as we headed into little Yosemite Valley were we set-up camp for the night at Little Yosemite Campground. From here, it was a 5.5 mile hike to Cloud's Rest.

While more people flock to the more popular Half Dome, we think that the view from Cloud's rest is even more spectacular!
