Millennials: War, Global Threat & Discard Systems

Millennials came of age inside permanent global threat — endless war cycles, expanding prison populations, militarized policing, and systems that dispose of human beings once they are no longer profitable, compliant, or useful.

This chapter examines how war didn’t just happen overseas for Millennials — it entered the nervous system at home. From post-9/11 militarization to the normalization of surveillance, incarceration, and veteran neglect, Millennials were raised inside a world where safety was conditional and bodies were expendable.
