Family Simm - Brünig to Meringen Reuti

Описание: The Brünig Panoramaweg runs from the Brünig Pass railway station to Meiringen Reuti cable car station (or the other way). It is just under 10km long and takes about 3 hours. There are two version of this path, one for the summer and one for the winter. The winter route takes a slightly different route but it is only a minor difference.

The walk itself takes covers everything from wooded paths, hard surfaces, villages and mountain trails. It is advisable, if you are doing this walk in the winter and there is still snow on the ground, to take walking poles as it can get slippy in the wooded area near Brünig.

At Brünig Pass, there is a second-hand shop (Brockenhaus) in the main station building which is highley recommended to browse through. There are a massive range of items and at a reasonable price.

Approximately 45 minutes into the walk you will come across a farmers self service fridge which usually has meat and cheese and possibly drink during the summer months.

The village of Hohfluh has a small super market and a very cute self service cafe with hot / cold drinks, vending machine and ice cream in the summer. It also has a lovely range of gifts for sale.

To our surprise, at Twing, there is a Mini Golf course with 18 holes which was open. Fun but cold being December.

All in all the walk is pleasant with a few steep hills which provide some great views over the valley. We have done it several times and will do it many more.
