Wind River Range | Backpacking to Green River Lakes | Squaretop Mountain near Pinedale Wyoming

Описание: The Wind River Range has been a destination we've wanted to explore, for some time now. Our adventure began with a lengthy 21 mile drive along a gravel road to reach the Green River Lakes trailhead. The hike itself was 3.5 miles with around 300' of elevation gain. The campsite we found was perhaps one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed. Squaretop Mountain stands at 11,695 feet and is the first peak that catches your eyes as you approach the trailhead. What makes this mountain so unique is flat top shape with sets it apart from the surrounding more traditionally peaked mountains. The sunrise over Squaretop Mountain was truly mesmerizing. The sky was like a painting with vibrant colors intensifying as the morning progressed. We recommend this hike to anyone looking for a short backpacking trip. Green River Lakes are a series of glacier lakes located in the Bridger Wilderness of Wyoming's Wind River Range.This is a place we plan to revisit and explore more thoroughly, especially the area beyond Squaretop Mountain.
