After his thrilling adventures and tough times in building republic city from the ground up after the War, Aang settled down and was ready to raise his family. In doing so, he wrote a small journal detailing his experiences after the war, and taking accounts from all of his friends to hand down to Tenzin so that he could continue his legacy. One of these accounts happens to be from Sokka and it’s currently the only known communication from Sokka to Tenzin in Avatar Canon. So hit that sub button for more avatar content and lets dive in!

So right at the start of the journal, Aang describes all of his friends from team Avatar to future Tenzin. He says “As you know, your Uncle Sokka is one Of my best
friends. As the Southern Water Tribe's oldest male
once all the warriors left to fight in the Hundred
Year War, Sokka became the leader of the tribe at
a young age. He protected the village and trained
children in defense.
