Border czar Tom Homan is holding a Minneapolis news conference after President Donald Trump tapped him to lead an immigration crackdown, following the departure of Border Patrol commander at large Gregory Bovino from the state.
Reports suggested Trump wasn't happy with how he and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem handled the death of Alex Pretti by federal immigration enforcement agents.
The president praised Homan as "tough but fair" as violent protests plague Minneapolis after two deadly shootings in a matter of weeks.
