Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described the violence in Nagpur on March 17, 2025, a "premeditated conspiracy" and that the mob specifically targeted certain houses and establishments.
While speaking in the State Legislative Assembly, Fadnavis said that 33 police personnel, including three deputy commissioners of police, were injured in the clashes.
One senior officer was reportedly attacked with an axe during the violence.
He assured that those responsible for attacking police personnel would face strict action. "The mob targeted specific houses and establishments. It appears to be a premeditated conspiracy," he said, stressing on the deliberate nature of the violence.
