Arizona State University and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Educate — Amazon’s global initiative to accelerate cloud-related learning — share a common bond: a passion for innovation and ideas that make the world better.
ASU hosted the AI Scholar Challenge, where students of different majors (and no coding background) were divided up and tested with programming an Alexa skill. Selected students received a free Echo Dot for their residence hall room when they arrived on campus.
Each member of the winning hackathon team earned a $5,000 ASU scholarship, AWS promotional credits, and a trip to Seattle to visit Amazon headquarters and meet with business and technical leaders.
