He has been a big playmaker all year long whether it’s with his arm or his legs and as of today, he's one of the front runners for MVP. There are some little things that I think are holding him back from being the outright front runner. He is so good and so talented right now and will only continue to improve as he continues to get more comfortable with pre-snap reads and understanding what he is seeing before the snap...and as he cleans up his technique a bit. I hear from people all the time about Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, they are so talented and I hear people say “that’s not how they play the game. They play more free and loose.” I get that and I understand what they are saying but I also want to see those guys make the layups. They are so talented, they can make every throw, they are smart enough to see the field. But if we just clean up the technique and allow it to lead them at times, I think they’re game gets better! I hate to see guys miss things because of the lack of technique. I think it’s one of those things you can work on and you can be better at even if you don’t play the game that way. If you build certain habits from a technique standpoint, those things will always carry you and they will help you to make the layups. So, let me take you into what Lamar did last week and some of the situations that he is surrounded with. Sometimes the system could help him a little bit. This is crazy talk because this is an MVP and a guy that’s playing, statistically, like an MVP now. But there is room for improvement. Let’s dive into the tape!

Hopefully you see what I’m talking about. With all the unbelievable things that Lamar does, there’s still so much left out on the field that they could do even better. He is a young guy. I don’t expect any of these young guys to be a finished product. When I look at Lamar, I just know what he is capable of. I know what he can do. Cleaning up a few things, I believe, takes him to another stratosphere. He is already the most talented quarterback we have ever seen in our game.
