Private labelling is typically a product produced by one company for offer under another company's label or brand.

Example: There might be an eyeshadow that is made by X company and another company (high end or low end) might use it with their name attached to it. Make sense? Often times private label products are produced very competitively and thus other brands/labels come along and stick their name to it and of course their price range!

There is nothing wrong with private label. Its widely used. Why reinvent the wheel when someone has a perfectly amazing product you could put your name too!

The issue for me comes when companies take a private label product and hike the price up so high. I love makeup and i love makeup applicators (brushes etc...) and i'm willing to pay good money for them too but what i'm not willing to do is buy a product that is 2-4x the amount when i know its the exact same product but without the name.

And this makeup blending sponge will soon be seen everywhere with higher and higher price tags.

I'm not trying to put anyone out of business. Everyone has free will and should be entitled to buy anything they want. But just beware when something looks, feels and acts the same way as a product for a 4th of the price - it just might be that same product without the fancy name.

Again this is just my opinion and i don't wish to offend anyone - i just want people to be more "aware".
