USPSA CGGR 6-16-18; Production C Class.
Overall not bad considering I didn’t touch my gun for a month. Looking forward analyzing this video to see what I messed up on and to better understand what caused my double feeds. But here is the match video. Starting on Stage 6. Had a great Squad this match. Can’t wait to shoot with them again.
I want to thank my Sponsor: TALON Grips and Veterans 3 Gun for their support in my USPSA Journey.
Used the Sidekick mount for the first time. It exceeded my expectation. Highly recommended for anyone considering getting one.
Anyway here are my thoughts on the stages. Thanks for watching.
Stage 6: First Stage of the day. Had what I considers the best stage plan of the day. Found a way to eliminate 1 shooting position and end the last shooting position with 1 steel. But I needed up moving to the wrong spot on the second to last shooting position and it threw my stage plan off. Put me in a situation to shoot a piece of steel ~35 yards away. 14/16 Production; HF 2.07; Time 37.66; Points 98
Stage 7: overall I think this was my best stage of the day. Have a lot to work on still with coming into a shooting position but the unloaded start I was pleased with. Finished 10/16 Production but 67.95% of the Production leader. I thinks that’s the best percentage I’ve shot yet for a stage. HF 5.44; Time 25.36; Points 138
Stage 1: How to start the stage, joke around about forgetting your stage plan. End up not forgetting your stage plan, but not double checking your gun before the buzzer goes off. One of my double feeds right out of the gate. 26.19%; HF 2.04; Time 46.84; Points 116; 16/16 Production.
Stage 2: This was a huge stage. Not just in the movement part but the distance for 2 targets. There were 2 Metric targets 35yards out. Struggled on the first few plates of the plate rack and forgot my stage plan a few seconds in. But over all didn’t finish to bad. 48% of the Division winner, Chris Tilley, for this stage. I was pleased with that given the mistakes I had. HF 2.96; Time: 37.80; Points 112. 10/16 Production.
Stage 3: This was a limited movement stage. I liked it a lot. Forced me to work on smooth movements of the body combined with the transitions of targets. My stage plan had me flowing well until the 3rd port. Biggest thing was I was slow and not accurate. Not a great combination. 16/16 Production.
Stage 4: Classifer: Both Sides Now. All I can say on this is HF 0.00. Double feed got me. This was the second or third for the day.
Stage 5: tried a trick I learned earlier this year. If the brief didn’t say flat on the table. Take an extra mag and place it under your gun to give you a better grip sooner. Another double feed on this stage early on. 16/16 Production. Finished 54% of the leader.
