On the morning of January 13th, Alex Ovechkin sat tied with Teemu Selanne at 684 goals for 11th on the all-time goals list. A week later he had passed Mario Lemieux for 10th place and tied Steve Yzerman at 9th with 692, thanks to a career-best stretch of 8 goals in 3 games which saw him score multiple goals in a career-high 3 straight games and score back-to-back hat tricks for the 3rd consecutive season. All at the age of 34. What an absolute monster.
