I got ‘together’ with my great drummer friend and colleague James Taylor aka JT_drums to play over this study n. 3 from the study book 16 rhythmo-technique by Giles Senon.
This is a book commonly used in undergraduate programs in music colleges worldwide.
I have always liked this piece because of its rhythmic nature and have never seen it as a classical piece (even when I was in my classical undergrad).

I did several takes on this with the classical mouthpiece Selmer D but I did not like any take as I felt something was missing, it wasn’t grooving, it wasn’t flowing.
I then tried few more takes with the jazz mouthpiece Meyer 6 and the stars aligned :)
Whatever piece you are playing it always try to approach it from different points of view, you’ll be surprised what new things you’ll discover.
