** UPDATE!! 8/6/25 ** Well it's been in there for over a year now, and as far as the gears go, no issues what soever. I am driving it pretty hard on the street too. I did have the lockout for 5th and reverse gears ball and spring backwards up near the shifter, but it was a super quick fix. So good to have synchro's again.
1987 Turbo RX7 S4 Transmission synchro replacement. This is not a definitive guide, but more or less the process I did to replace the synchro's. Whether this transmission is now junk or not only time will tell. This is about half the cost of a rebuild from a shop, so definitely not super cheap. I don't have a manual transmission shop near me, and I didn't want to wait or mess about with shipping.
Rebuild Technical manual I followed = Non-Turbo and Turbo FC: https://www.rotaryheads.com/PDF/2nd_g...

*****You should probably follow the manual and use feeler gauges and dial calipers to measure clearances and offsets. I didn't have spare shims or washers so I replaced the synchro's and bearings without measuring. I wouldn't recommend this, and It will probably be why the transmission fails, if it does.
