We know how challenging it is when a dog struggles with extreme handling and touch aggression, when even simple interactions feel overwhelming for them.
Luna has required sedation or medication for nearly any kind of handling in the past. So moments like this, where she’s being gently touched by a trainer and working through that reaction, are huge.
Right now, food and positive reinforcement aren’t effective because she’s in such a heightened state — but as we help her work through this touch sensitivity, we know she’ll reach a place where those tools can finally become meaningful.
Eventually, we’ll be able to shift her experience from just tolerating being touched to potentially even having fun in her sessions — with food, trust, and a clear understanding that no one is trying to hurt her. That’s when real healing and progress begins.
