Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2026 registrations are now officially live on the Krafton India Esports website. Teams can register for the tournament until 4 January 2026, and this edition once again offers Indian BGMI players a chance to compete at the highest domestic level.
This video provides a complete and easy-to-understand breakdown of BGIS 2026 rules, including team structure, player eligibility, POV recording requirements, allowed devices, competitive maps, and the full In-Game Qualifiers (IGQ) format.
Team and Player Rules in BGIS 2026
Each team participating in BGIS 2026 must have four main players. Teams are also allowed to register one substitute player, which is optional. The maximum roster size is five players.
A player is allowed to play for only one team throughout the tournament. Using an incorrect roster or an unregistered player can lead to direct disqualification, so teams must ensure their lineup is accurate during registration.
Player Eligibility, Age, Rank, and ID Verification
To be eligible for BGIS 2026, players must be at least 16 years old. Players under the age of 18 are required to provide parental consent.
All participants must have Indian citizenship along with a valid Indian government ID. Additionally, a BGMI account with Level 30 or above is mandatory, and the player’s rank must be Platinum I or higher.
ID verification takes place during tournament stages. Providing incorrect or fake details during registration can create serious issues later in the competition.
IGN (In-Game Name) Rules
Players must follow the standard TEAMNAME + PLAYERNAME format for their in-game names.
For example: ORScout or TSMJoker.
Offensive names, abusive words, or brand names without approval are not allowed. Players are also not permitted to change their IGN during the tournament once it begins.
POV Recording Rules in BGIS 2026
POV recording is one of the most important and strictly enforced rules in BGIS.
For every match, players must record:
In-game POV
Handcam POV
Only the mobile phone’s built-in screen recorder is allowed. Using any third-party recording application can result in immediate disqualification.
POV recordings must be uploaded within 8 hours of match completion and must remain accessible for at least 7 days. Missing or late POV uploads can lead to points deduction or tournament bans.
Allowed Devices and Equipment
BGIS 2026 allows only mobile phones for gameplay. The use of emulators, PCs, tablets, controllers, keyboards, or mouse devices is strictly prohibited.
Players are allowed to use earphones, and transparent phone covers are also permitted.
Team Slot and Ownership Rules
In BGIS, the tournament slot belongs to the team owner, not the team name itself.
An owner is not allowed to own multiple teams in the same tournament. Similarly, multiple teams under the same brand or organization are not permitted.
In-Game Qualifiers (IGQ) Format Explained
The In-Game Qualifiers are played directly within BGMI. Each registered team is required to play 15 matches during the IGQ stage.
Out of these:
The best 10 matches are counted
The remaining 5 matches are ignored
Teams qualify for the next stage based on their overall performance. Consistency is key, as one or two strong matches alone are not enough to secure qualification.
BGIS 2026 Maps – Is Rondo Allowed?
BGIS 2026 matches are played only on fixed competitive maps.
Erangel and Miramar are the main competitive maps
Rondo is not allowed in competitive matches
Rondo is limited to casual or special modes and will not be featured in In-Game Qualifiers or later tournament stages.
