Описание: স্বল্পমূল্যের স্যানিটারি ন্যাপকিন প্রস্তুতকারী ইউনিট-এর গল্প টাউনমেকিং বেঙ্গল-এর দ্বিতীয় পর্ব। ঋতুকালীন স্বাস্থ্যবিধি কিশোরী মেয়ে ও মহিলাদের মেনে চলার ক্ষেত্রে স্যানিটারি ন্যাপকিনের ব্যবহার অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি বিষয়। অথচ পশ্চিমবঙ্গের গ্রামাঞ্চলের মেয়েদের ক্ষেত্রে দাম ও সহজে পাওয়া না যাওয়া এক্ষেত্রে এখনো বড় বাধা। হাওড়া জেলার বাউরিয়ার খাসখামার গ্রামে ফ্রিডম স্যানিটারি ন্যাপকিন এই বাধা দুর করছে। ২০১০ সালে স্থানীয় মহিলাদের স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠী প্রশিক্ষণ নিয়ে নিজেদের ন্যাপকিন তৈরির ইউনিটে তৈরি করছেন স্বল্পমূল্যের 'ফ্রিডম' ন্যাপকিন। 'ফ্রিডম'-এর ইউনিট শুরুর কথা, ইউনিট পরিচালনা, স্থানীয়ভাবে ইউনিটে স্বল্পমূল্যের স্যানিটারি ন্যাপকিন প্রস্তুত করার প্রক্রিয়া এবং দীর্ঘ ১৫ বছরের অভিজ্ঞতায় উৎপাদন, সামাজিক উদ্যোগ ও সচেতনতা প্রসারের সমস্যা ও সমাধান উঠে এল এই পর্বে।

The story of a low cost sanitary napkin production unit is the second episode of Townmaking Bengal. Sanitaey napkin is one of the most important components to maintain menstrual hygiene of adolescent girls and women. But in rural Bengal till now the price of the napkins and not being easily accessible remain a barrier in this issue. Freedom sanitary napkin, in Khashkhamar village of Bauria in Howrah district of West Bengal is bridging this gap. Since 2010, self help group of local women is producing low cost sanitary napkins in their own production unit. How the production unit if 'Freedom" was started, how the unit us run, the process of producing low cost sanitary napkins in the unit locally and the problems and solutions gathered through the experience of more than 15 years of production, social entrepreneurship and spreading awareness is discussed in this episode.
