I am 71 years old and for 2 years I was suffering from osteoarthritis in both of my hips. During that time frame my situation was in constant decline leading eventually to a very painful “bone on bone” predicament.
While I refused to give up the physical activities that I loved like mountain biking, snowboarding and kitesurfing I paid a huge price in pain and sleepless nights after every session.
However, thanks to a young orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Vora in Barrie, Ontario my life has been dramatically improved and all my arthritic pain placed with hope and a feeling of optimism, relief and thankful appreciation.
In less than 3 weeks since my bilateral hip replacement surgery, I am walking without any mobility aids, no pain meds and today I was even able to cut the grass in my backyard!
I hope, by sharing my story I can offer encouragement and hope to others who are suffering from osteoarthritis and considering single or even a double hip replacement to go for it and get your life back!
