Travel Stories: Riding the Montreux Cogwheel Train to Rochers de Naye (With Voice Commentary!)

Описание: Hop aboard one of Switzerland’s most scenic train rides - the cogwheel train from Montreux to the stunning summit of Rochers de Naye (2,042 meters above sea level). This isn’t your average commute. We’re talking about a 55-minute uphill journey that starts by the sunny shores of Lake Geneva and ends in a snowy wonderland high in the Alps. In this video, we’ve added voice commentary reading our blog post aloud – so you can sit back, watch the views roll by, and pretend you’re on the train with us (minus the altitude headache).

Some quick nerdy stats: this rack railway has been chugging tourists and hikers uphill since 1892. The steepest gradient is a calf-cramping 22%, which is why the train needs that funky-looking cog system between the rails to stay on track. Sadly, the marmots were on vacation when we went (probably sunbathing), but the views more than made up for it. Oh – and we nearly missed the train. Because of course we did.
