Leading up to the production of wetplate collodion photographs (ambrotypes, tintypes, etc) a few chemical recipes should be prepared and stored. Here is a look at the very simple process of mixing the standard silver nitrate solution. Always remember to cover up with gloves and protective eyewear when working with silver nitrate, and clean up thoroughly after each batch!
