Описание: Probably the most iconic Rolex to both those who are familiar or even unfamiliar with luxury watches. The Rolex Submariner, first introduced in 1953, which was the first diving watch to meet 100m water resistance. The watch features came a rotating 60-minute timing bezel to help divers keep track of time spent underwater. And this one with a specific reference number 5513, was produced in 1985. While we take our journey into vintage Rolexes, I am far from knowledgable in this vast realm, given that even the world of vintage submariners can be overwhelming at times. While older models and maxi-dials (while stand for the oversized hours markers) may be more desirable, this one give a very good flavour of what vintage submariners are about at a more accessible and reasonable entry point. Specific to this model, produced starting 1984 marked the switch from matte to gloss dials with white gold markers. I am particular fond of glossy dials given the depth appeal and mesmerizing reflections given off at certain lighting angles.

Given that specific aging and patina are distinct to the experience and unique conditions of the watch’s life spent, these vintage submariners are more personalise and less loud than the new heftier ceramic ones, while the convenience of easy strap changing provides an additional dimension individuality and style.

Some may prefer a submariner with a date function, but the no date to others offer a more balanced and clean dial. So it comes down to personal preference, if you ask me.
Glossy Dial along with the age of the watch also call for extra care, as the glossy dials that are not kept well, away from moisture and temperature controlled condition are known to crack or damage. So the biggest disadvantage of vintage watches is the extra care required to maintain and handle them.
