We marinated juicy pork in a rich, Cantonese-inspired sauce made with soy sauce, hoisin, brown sugar, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Then roasted it slowly over the coals for that perfect balance of smoky, sticky, sweet, and savory goodness. Served with fragrant jasmine rice and a fresh, quick-pickled cucumber salad. Recipe
∙ For the 3Kg Boneless Pork Shoulder Roast
∙ 1 tablespoon brown sugar
∙ 1½ tablespoon salt
∙ 1½ tablespoon White pepper
Char Siu Sauce
∙ ½ cup soy sauce
∙ ½ cup Hoisin sauce
∙ ½ cup brown sugar
∙ 1½ tablespoons sesame oil
∙ ¼ teaspoon chilli flakes
∙ 1 tablespoon Chinese 5 spice
∙ 3 Garlic cloves
∙ ¼ cup Rice vinegar
∙ 1½ tablespoon Onion powder
∙ ½ tablespoon dried ginger
Quick Pickled Cucumber side
∙ English Cucumber
∙ Rice vinegar
∙ Sesame oil
∙ Honey
∙ Salt
∙ Soy sauce
∙ Fresh ginger
