PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
Thank you.
What's up YouTube!
This is a part of my version of experiment on how close the IR guitar cab can get to that real mic'd cab sound we hear on commercial CDs.
I used a stock Ibanez S540BM, Tascam US122 I/O, PC, AmpliTube Sonar X2a Studio, and some great free VST effects. The VST effects setting on the screen is the actual setting I am using for this track. Go Hi Res to see the parameters. I am currently unable to record using my full acoustic/jazz hollow body as its tone control seems to have an issue but to the best of my knowledge and belief, results will be more or less the same.
*IMPORTANT TIPs:
1) Tweak your guitar tone control as desired, usually to somewhere around halfway (about "4" in my case) depending on the guitar you use. The VST effect "Shifter Bank" is NOT turned on upon export of the sample.
2) You can have Mike Stern kind of sound when the VST effect "Shifter Bank" is turned on. It is available for free at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_pk... (Important Note: Original site is currently redirecting to an attacking site so that I uploaded it to my Google Drive. Use it under your own responsibility.) and offers you a slightly detuned effect that is hard to find in today's market.
3) You can download the Amplitube patch at:
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/userarea/...
in hits user area. Look for "Smooth Jazz RnB Fusion" at the user area.
4) Colour EQ VST effect can be cancelled if you can achieve the sound as you desired without it. Going without Colour EQ works for the better (but you still need lo-cut as is also the case in the actual studio production workflow. What you can cancel is the high boost). Generally speaking, the more EQ you use, the less natural it sounds. If you have any experience where the guitar track sounds quite different depending on the speakers, most likely any overly tweaked EQ is responsible.
5) You can adjust the slight distortion of the Deluxe amp by tweaking the graphic EQ level on the AmpliTube patch (and NOT the one used on the Sonar track effect slot). By default, the distiotion of the amp is minimized by the EQ level control.
The prime season of my core business only allowed me to improvise with a little head I made up on a track generously made available by great Jam Tracks Channel. The backing track is recorded on my PC using Audacity freeware.
The backing track is available at: • Видео
They have a great selection of high quality backing tracks available so check them out to find some of your flavor.
I am very glad that now all of us can afford great guitar sound on almost any PC, and that sounds very close to the rigs that was totally unaffordable if we think about the budgets, and transportation even if we managed to afford the rig price.
This also means that we cannot have excuse any more, or go "I do not sound great because my rig sucks..."
On the top of it, using amp sim saves alot and significantly contributes to GHG reduction in every aspect, save gas as you hop on to subways or buses to your rehearsals instead of hauling your stacks and driving, use less electricity compared to actual rig, and so on.
So go virtual today and leave no excuse, have fun, and pass on the great music legend to the future while getting greener.
The actual performance footage has to wait some more!
Повторяем попытку...
