Описание: The government has received a 1.3 billion shilling loan from the OPEC fund for international development --OFID. The funds will be used to support the energy sector in the country through co-financing electricity expansion program supported by the World Bank. Finance Minister Njeru Githae says the main objective of the program will be to provide rural population with access to reliable and affordable electricity. Meanwhile the government is optimistic of making strides in the energy sector following recent discoveries of oil and gas which are still at the exploration stages.
