Jesus' Genealogy

While Christ is uniquely conceived by the Holy Spirit, His lineage includes sinful and broken people who themselves needed redemption. This underscores that the true King came not only to rule but to save. Jesus subdues rebellious hearts by grace, rules and defends His people by His Word and Spirit, and ultimately restrains and conquers all enemies—sin, Satan, death, and hell. As the final genealogy in Scripture, Luke’s account declares that the search is complete: the King of kings has arrived and reigns forever.
