Cachar Police Seizes 1.2 Lakh Yaba Tablets in Major Narcotics Bust
Cachar Police conducted a major narcotics operation today, intercepting two Tata Intra vehicles suspected of transporting drugs under the jurisdiction of Silchar Police Station. The vehicles, traveling from Aizawl, Mizoram, were searched, leading to the recovery of 1.2 lakh Yaba tablets concealed inside potato bags. The tablets, estimated to have a black market value of ₹36 crore, were seized. One suspect, Md Azad Lashkar (20), was arrested, and the vehicles used for trafficking were also seized. Investigations are underway, according to Cachar SP Numal Mahatta.
