Eli Tomac – a multi-time motocross champion – refuses to use a hydraulic clutch and has been vocal about disliking its feel. In fact, Tomac pushed to keep a cable clutch on Yamaha’s new 450s because he hated the hydraulic system he tried on his Kawasaki. Yamaha listened: they left the YZ450F/FX with a traditional clutch and offered this GYTR kit as an optional upgrade. That means the YZ450FX’s engine was designed to accept the hydraulic system with no modifications needed, making the GYTR clutch install a simple bolt-on process.
