Albert Hartley is a textile manufacturer based in Barnoldswick, Lancashire. The old mill premises are no longer fit for purpose and new bespoke facilities are needed to safeguard the industry and jobs in Barnoldswick. Staff have helped put together this video to explain the background to the planning application which includes plans for a new factory and supermarket. The supermarket will provide residents with a new local shopping facility to save them driving out of the town, whilst also funding the much needed new factory. Albert Hartley will rationalise the space they need within the new factory allowing them to increase efficiency of processes and introducing a new apprenticeship scheme. There will then be surplus land available which is where the supermarket is proposed to be built.
