Thank you for watching my “Vox amPlug Review – Vox amPlug Metal Guitar Mini Amp Demo”. In this review we will elaborate on the popular Vox amplug Metal Guitar Headphone Mini Amp and all its features. As I had already mentioned in my review of the Vox amPlug AC30, I usually use these accessories for practicing purposes without exposing my family to the sound coming out of my amp. They are used to it by now, but hey, you got to be considerate, right? ;-)
Alright, as mentioned in the video review, the Vox amPlug Metal is both very affordable and handy. What I like is the fact that they kept things very straight forward as far as functionality is concerned. No unnecessary knick-knacks. The focus is on sound quality, as it should. Speaking of functionality, the only feature I typically don’t use is the AUX input to connect your iPhone or other device to the amPlug Metal by Vox. It works well, I just don’t use it very often. However, for those of you who like to play along or use backtracks, this can come in very handy.
The Vox amPlug Metal needs two AAA batteries. No worries, as you purchase the item, the a set of batteries comes with the package. In general, the Vox amPlug mini amps are doing really well as far as battery usage is concerned. Of course, you will have to remember to turn the device off after use to extend the life of the batteries.
Here are some of the frequently asked questions around this headphone mini amp:
Can I use the Vox amPlug Metal guitar amp with a regular amplifier? And what about stomp boxes and guitar pedals? Yes, not a problem, that can be done and it actually works very well. You just connect the device via its output – where you would typically plug in the headphones or PC Speakers – to your amp or cabinet, and you’re good to go. I tried it several times with the AC30 amPlug and it’s not a problem. The same is true for pedals, you just plug the device into your pedal, the pedal to your guitar and you’re fine.
What I like the best about the amPlug is the price. For very little money you actually get an amazing quality of sound. No idea how they do that. But as you saw and heard in my vox amplug metal demo, the sound is pretty cool. You can add tons of gain and dial back and forth within a great range of tone. That actually reminds me of another question that someone asked me: Can the Vox amPlug Metal produce a clean sound? Well, that’s a bit tricky, but if you dial the gain all the way back to one and set the tone to something like 2-3, you come as close as it gets to a clean sound. I hope you were able to hear all that in the video.
So, the price is right, functionality and features are straight forward to use and one thing I forgot: the case of the Vox amPlug metal is made of plastic. Which means the device is very light, yet of sturdy built.
Alright, that’s it. I hope you found my Vox amPlug Review – Vox amPlug Metal Guitar Mini Amp Demo helpful. As usual, leave any questions you have in the comment box below. Thanks a lot for watching.
