A man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with a shooting that killed his mother and her boyfriend inside a Richton Park apartment Saturday evening. The victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene, have been identified as 45-year-old Marcus Jones and 38-year-old Nivia Phillips, according to investigators. Further investigation alleges that Phillips' son, since identified as 21-year-old Javonte Morris, shot and killed Phillips and Jones after Phillips reportedly threatened to throw Morris out of the house.
