The Fire Tech U webinar series has evolved from foundational topics such as technology integration and selection to exploring artificial intelligence and emerging technologies shaping the future of the fire service.

This webinar focused on the support available to fire chiefs and their agencies as they navigate data and technology challenges. The session was hosted by Joanna Zibbell, Fire Tech Manager for the Boise Fire Department and Secretary of the Association of Fire and Emergency Services Analysts (AFESA), alongside Jessica LeBlanc, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue and Chair of AFESA.

Fire departments generate more data than ever before—from CAD and RMS to staffing, training, and inspections—yet many organizations lack the internal capacity to consistently transform that data into actionable insight. This presentation introduces fire chiefs to the modern data analyst profession and highlights how analysts serve as a critical bridge between operations, technology, and informed decision-making.
