In this episode of the Lotus Europa restoration, I finally install the oil pump on the twin cam engine, something I definitely should’ve done earlier! It’s not the most exciting job, but every detail counts when you’re building a classic Lotus from the ground up.
After that, I head over to the body shop to check on the Europa’s fiberglass shell and this is where things start getting exciting. The fiberglass work is finished, the panels are straight, and the first coat of primer finally goes on. Seeing the car in primer for the first time completely transforms it… it finally looks like a car again instead of a science project.
