Edible Flowers:
Citrus blossom, tulip, clover, daisies, dandelions, hibiscus, honeysuckle, lavender, lilac, nasturtium, pansies, roses, sunflowers, violets, apple blossoms, cherry blossoms and others.
Mainly the petals of the flowers are eatable. Do not eat flowers from florists, nurseries or garden centers, road sides. In many cases these flowers have been treated with pesticides.
Arfa Samreen, senior dietitian at Vikram Hospital, Bengaluru, said: “Edible flowers contain phytonutrients, flavonoids and antioxidants, all of which can help lower the risk of certain health problems like cancer and heart disease."
Fruits:
The best time to eat fruits is first thing in the morning after a glass of water. Eating raw fruits right after a meal is not a great idea, as it may not be digested properly. The nutrients may not be absorbed properly either. You need to leave a gap of at least 30 minutes between a meal and a fruit snack.
Eating fruit with a meal slows down digestion, meaning that food sits in the stomach for a long time and can ferment. The theory says that this causes gas, bloating, and digestive discomfort.
