Yakov Katsnelson – graduate of the Moscow Conservatory (class of Eliso Virsaladze), prize-winner at international competitions in Kaluga, Trapani (Italy), Tbilisi, and the Sviatoslav Richter Competition in Moscow. He is a diploma laureate of the XIII International J.S. Bach Competition in Leipzig, the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, and the Clara Haskil Competition in Vevey.
Katsnelson has participated in major international festivals, including Oleg Kagan Festival (Kreuth), Montreux, Sarajevo, Utrecht (Janine Jansen Festival), Kaposvár (Hungary), Tiradentes (Brazil), Erl (Tyrol Festival), and Moscow (festivals Vozvrashchenie and December Nights). He performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and with orchestras across Europe. Since 2009 he has taught piano at the Moscow Conservatory.
His recordings include both solo and chamber music albums. His 2009 CD of J.S. Bach’s works, recorded on a Steingraeber piano in Bayreuth and released by the Quarz label, received high critical acclaim.
PAUL McNULTY developed an interest in instrument building after attending the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Following his studies in piano technology in Boston, he obtained guild qualification as a tuning examiner. Paul McNulty has built more than 300 fortepianos after Silbermann, Stein, Walter, Hofmann, Fritz, Buchholtz, Graf, Pleyel and Streicher.
