Описание: Vintage home movie filmed in 1937 at the Hollywood Bowl by Dr. Karol Liszniewski of Cincinnati.

Johannes Hendrikus Philip "Hans" Kindler (Jan 8, 1892, Rotterdam - Aug 30, 1949, Watch Hill, Rhode Island) was a Dutch-American cellist and conductor.
Kindler played first cello in the Philadelphia Orchestra. He gave first performances of works by Ravel and Schoenberg and Ferruccio Busoni dedicated an arrangement of Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue for cello and piano to him. He founded the National Symphony Orchestra in 1931 and was its conductor until 1949, performing many works of new composers. The Kindler Foundation Trust Fund was established in 1983 by the Kindler Foundation (incorporated in 1952) to offer concerts and to commission new chamber music in his memory.

Gérard Hekking (August 12, 1879-June 5, 1942) was a French cellist. Born in Nancy, he served as first cellist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra from 1903 until 1914. From 1927 until his death he taught cello at the Paris Conservatory; he died in Paris.

The music on the video has been added (as the original film was silent). It is Villageoise for cello & piano composed and performed by Gerard Hekking . Available at:
