About the Speaker:
Dr. Jagadisha Thirthalli is a Professor and Head at the Department of Psychiatry at NIMHANS. He is also the In-charge Officer for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) services at NIMHANS. With over two decades of clinical and research experience in ECT and other brain stimulation techniques, he is recognized as a leading expert in the field. Dr. Thirthalli has received several prestigious honours, including the Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial Manasa National Award, Marfatia Award from the Indian Psychiatric Society and the Sir C.V. Raman Award from the Government of Karnataka. Dr. Thirthalli’s areas of research interest include neuromodulation in psychiatry and long-term outcome of severe mental illnesses in the community.
