Off the Beaten Path: Road Trip Guide to Northern Kenya and Lake Turkana

I'm so excited to share my first road trip adventure into the Northern part of Kenya. Northern Kenya is a vast, untapped region of natural beauty filled with unique experiences.

However it is hardly known by most and travelled by a very few. It's a place with diverse cultures and nature, where different ethnic groups live in extremely remote areas, holding on to their unique traditions and lifestyles, away from modern influences.

Because of its lack of infrastructure and utilities, getting to Northern Kenya and spending a few days is known to be one of the most challenging adventures. However, this area has some amazing destinations to explore, including Chalbi Dessert, Lake Turkana and many more. Out of all that wonders, Lake Turkana takes a special place as it's the largest desert lake in the world which also happens to be the main attraction of this trip.

During our trip we get to experience a totally different side of Kenya which is not wildlife but people. The Cultures here are so diverse yet, poverty rates are some of the highest in the country, and on top of that, the harsh climate throughout the year, challenges the livelihoods of a largely pastoralist population.
But still, they manage to have a smile on their faces no matter what…

I guess these are the trips that really teach you about life and especially road trips are the best way to learn about a country.
