DQ2 Playthrough | Part 2: Seek the Cannock Prince, Caradoc

Our journey continues.

We arrive in the Kingdom of Cannock, hoping to find Caradoc. Unfortunately he has gone on his own journey to find Gawain aka the Midenhall Prince. So now we got to find him. Of course Matilda, Caradoc's younger sister joins along to find him. To let you know, she's only temporary. She won't join our party until much later.

The two head for the Wellspring of the Hero. We reach the end only to learn that Caradoc has went off to Midenhall. But the Keeper insists that the two be cleansed in the blessed waters. They do that. They head for Midenhall only to learn that he went back home to Cannock. We then went to Cannock and you can guess how that goes. So we head to Leftwynn and find Caradoc in the inn. We find him and he joins our party, not to mention that Matilda knew about what happened in Moonbrooke. So Caradoc joins our party officially. We return to Cannock and meet the King and Queen. Matilda leaves but don't worry, we'll see her later. We also obtain a Gwaelin's Gate pass.

With two party members, the journey may be a bit easier or harder. We head to Gwaelin's Pass only to find out the place has been attacked. Attacked by a pair of monsters. To make matters worse, the basement area had been flooded. So we need to find the Bottomless Pot. Remember that from Dragon Quest III? Yep. We need it again.

We head for the Cave of the Lake. Venturing to the second basement, we find a pair of monsters named Abra and Cadabra. Focus on Abra first while Caradoc uses Buff to boost defense. Gawan goes all offensive. Once Abra goes down, Cadabra is next and once he goes down, that's it. Secure the bottomless pot, return to Gwaelin's Gate and drain the water that flooded the caves below.

Part 3 is where we head to the next town and hopefully figure out a plan.
