Traveling with toddlers outside the U.S. means one thing: people just make it work.
When we were on Cat Ba Island, our boat pulled up to a tiny island stop.
To get off, you had to walk down a narrow plank over the water.
My husband was about to do it holding our 2-year-old…when the boat operator stepped in.
“No no,” he said.
“Give me the child.”
Everyone on the boat started watching. 😅
He grabbed her, carried her, kept her completely dry, and didn’t hesitate for a second.
Then he immediately started helping her feed the monkeys like it was the most normal thing in the world.
No panic. No drama. No “kids can’t do this.”
Just inclusion.
That’s something we notice over and over again outside the U.S.
Things may look different.
They may not be what you’re used to.
But different doesn’t mean unsafe, wrong, or bad.
It just means people are adaptable and kids are welcome.
🐒 Has this ever happened to you while traveling?
